Saying goodbye.



My mum is such a jet setter. When my sister Jeni was 21 she flew to Thailand....just to say Happy Birthday you understand! She and John have been backpacking around the Greek Islands and could advise anyone on a multitude of Euorpean hotspots.

You would think South America would be a little different. New culture, no English, caution needing to be displayed everywhere in terms of theft, not being guarenteed a tiolet seat in hotels and of course the food...dreadful! But no. At not one point did any of this even seem an issue. ( apart from the toilet seat) It was an absolute pleasure to travel with Mum and John and it 'made' Peru for us to experience it together. I felt so proud at each obstacle we overcame, each magical landscape we trecked to and sweated blood to reach. For all Jez and I saved, for all we planned for, all we loved, it made the year to have my mum know and have her own little bit of South America in her heart.
